Our Ideal Candidate

In the context of transformation and scaling both in France and internationally, we are seeking our new Director of Human Resources (HR Director) who will be capable of supporting us in building an innovative and high-performing HR department that serves our business and mission alongside our founders and executive team.

Human Resources are key to the development of any organization. They are the main lever for transformation and performance. Our success relies primarily on the people who make up LINAGORA, our software, and our services. Thus, the HR Director is the most important orchestrator in this success.

We are looking for a doer, not a theorist. We want someone who rolls up their sleeves, not someone who relies on external consultants or employees to draft job descriptions, set objectives, write HR policies, or create new operational modes to make the company more agile and appealing.

We want someone who comes to serve our collective rather than to use it for personal gain on social media or to showcase themselves at the prestigious French schools we partner with. We have carefully built strong partnerships with five major schools.

You will report directly to our General Director, but will work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary Executive Committee. Initially, you will have a dedicated recruitment collaborator. The administrative HR follow-up is currently managed by the Administrative and Financial Department. Your team is expected to grow proportionally with the company’s growth. You will be based at the company headquarters, in exceptional offices within a beautiful architect-designed villa, the “Villa GoodTech,” with direct access to the Seine and the possibility to paddle or kayak during lunch breaks or after work. The villa is located on Saint-Germain Island, offering easy access to the departmental park, making it convenient for jogging as well. It is easily accessible by public transport, but we can also offer parking options, as the city of Issy is well-equipped.

The company has a remote work policy for many employees, but executive positions, except in very exceptional cases, do not have access to this. This is a strategy embraced by the executive team to enhance collective performance. At LINAGORA, leaders set the example!

Your Responsibilities

In one sentence, your mission is to define the company’s human resources policy, in agreement with the General Director and the President, and then implement it with the support of your team, the Finance Department, and the executive team.

Your detailed missions include:
  • Confirming, amending, and/or improving our recruitment policy. It must be differentiating and enable us to recruit the best possible collaborators in a competitive market, all within a realistic budget. We are not looking for mercenaries. We aim to recruit highly qualified engineers who share our values and goals. We have a clear vision of how to convince these talents to join us. Once on board, you must ensure our onboarding practices are effective and provide a reassuring introduction for each new hire. We must take care of every employee from their first weeks with us.
  • Participating in recruitment actions. How can one be an HR Director without conducting interviews? You will also engage in first-level meetings (HR interviews) to validate the soft skills of prospective hires, including their English proficiency. By actively participating in the recruitment process, you will gain firsthand experience of areas for improvement. Your input will be crucial in recruiting future managers at LINAGORA. Recruitment efforts will also include outreach activities, such as meeting students on partner campuses, welcoming students during open house days, and attending recruitment fairs.
  • Once our employees have settled into the company, it is important to ensure their well-being and to provide career paths that encourage them to stay with us. Thus, you will need to work on a retention policy and career development plans.
  • The primary expectation of our employees is to receive an attractive and coherent compensation package that allows them to realize their life projects. You will oversee our compensation policy, ensuring it is fair, consistent, and innovative. It should support our employees' career paths and allow those who wish to build a career at LINAGORA, as many already have. You will also be responsible for implementing these compensation packages, including variable compensation.
  • You will define and implement our training initiatives to support our employees' skill development. Our many initiatives already include both internal and external training, as well as coaching activities.
  • Once you have settled in and established long-term goals, you will manage social relations within the company. These relations are excellent, based on mutual trust, and they serve the company's growth and the professional development of our employees.
  • While not needing to be a legal expert—thanks to our excellent professional union and good lawyers—you will be responsible for contractual relations within the company.
  • Finally, an important task is to ensure overall cohesion across the group. We have several subsidiaries in France and abroad. Even if some, like Vietnam, have their own HR resources, you must ensure consistent rules within the company and share best practices. You are not just the HR Director for Paris but for the entire company.

Required Skills

We prefer to hire a woman (as we want to implement positive discrimination for this role to balance gender parity within our management team), but a man who meets our criteria will also be considered.

We believe it is essential that this person has a higher education background, such as at least a Bac+5 with a specialization in Human Resources from a specialized HR school, a business school with an HR focus, a university education, or ideally, a dual training in engineering and HR as part of an MBA.

We seek someone with a minimum of 3 years of successful experience as an HR Director or HR Manager. This position could suit someone who started their career in specialized recruitment firms and later progressed to HR Manager or Director. A total professional experience of 7 to 10 years would provide the necessary background for this role.
We prefer someone with professional experience in the digital sector, ideally within a software publishing company. Familiarity with the digital field is mandatory, as is proficiency with digital tools. We use Odoo and aim to automate as many tasks as possible. In fact, we are inspired by how Odoo recruits. If you want to understand how to excel in recruitment, Odoo is an excellent case study.

Proficiency in English is also essential. We communicate daily in English and recruit in English, so if you only speak broken English, this will not work. Your English skills will be tested from the first interview. If you are fluent in another language, that would be a definite plus, especially if it is Russian, as we have many colleagues who speak it.
You must be available. We are looking for someone who can commit strongly to our organization and is willing to work hard. "Tourists" will not find their place here. It is not possible to hide within our organization. Both founders work daily, are highly involved, give a lot, and expect the same in return.

We welcome "doers," not "talkers." If you identify with this job description, please don't hesitate to apply! You will be welcomed with your passions, culture, strengths, and weaknesses, and you will embark on an incredible adventure!
